In this photo, the skull is being reflected away from the brain. The dura remains tightly attached the inside (underside) of the skull. Note the “bridging veins” that connect the dura mater to the underlying meninges/brain.

Gallstones

Gallstones are hard, pebble-like deposits that form inside the gallbladder. They  may be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a golf ball.

There are two main types of gallstones: (1) Stones made of cholesterol, which are by far the most common type, and (2) Stones made of bilirubin, which can occur when red blood cells are being destroyed (hemolysis). This leads to too much bilirubin in the bile. These stones are called pigment stones.
